3. When should I start using the maternity support belt?

There’s no right time to invest in a belly band or a pregnancy belt. Every woman is different, so it really depends on your bump and how much support you would prefer. If you intend to exercise during your pregnancy, you’re having trouble sleeping, or you’re expecting multiples, you may want to invest in extra support during your first trimester to see you through the whole pregnancy and beyond. 5. How do I choose the right size?

You can buy the band based on your pre-pregnancy clothing size. The band comes in 4 sizes: S, M, L, and XL. One size fits your entire pregnancy as each band size offers 25cm of adjustability to grow with your belly. You can also choose the size based on your current waist measurement. Measure around your waist, just under the highest point of your belly. Model info: Juulia is 35 weeks pregnant and wearing a size M support belt (pre-pregnancy size EU38).

6. How to wear the pregnancy belt?

1. First, wrap the pregnancy support belt around your waist and fasten the lower compression strap; underneath the highest point of your tummy, around your waist to create a lifting effect. 2. Next adjust the top compression strap, keeping it in a similar position to the lower strap. Ensure that the straps are underneath your bump rather than around it to get the best support. 3. Tighten and adjust the compression straps as you wish. You will feel the weight of your baby bump lift and your posture corrected to stabilize your back. When you’re wearing your maternity support belt correctly, you will be able to breathe and move around comfortably whilst feeling fully supported.

7. How do I use the heat pack that comes with the belly band?

TO USE COLD: Store in freezer, remove and place in the pocket or other, additional cover. Apply to affected area. A minimum of 2 hours is required in the freezer to obtain best results. DO NOT USE DIRECTLY ON SKIN STRAIGHT FROM THE FREEZER. TO USE HOT: Hot water use (recommended):1. Boil enough water to cover the pack completely and remove from heat 2. Place the pack in the water for about 7 minutes 3. Leave in container for 10 minutes if pack is frozen 4. Remove from water using a tong or similar and place in the pocket Microwave use: 1. Be cautious as microwaves vary in power and you will need to find the correct time to heat the pack 2. Flatten the pack to ensure the gel is evenly distributed 3. Place the pack in the microwave oven and set timer for max 30 seconds and then allow to stand for 30 seconds 4. If more heat is required, heat in 10 seconds increments with equal standing time until desired temperature is achieved 5. Remove from the microwave oven by using tong or similar and place in pocket Medium power is recommended for the microwave oven. Do not heat in microwave oven over 1400 WATT. DO NOT USE DIRECTLY ON SKIN STRAIGHT FROM THE MICROWAVE. CAUTION: Do not overheat the pack in the microwave beyond the recommended time as this may cause leakage of contents. If contents are exposed to the skin or eyes, flush with water immediately. The gel is non-toxic and inedible. If irritation or redness persists, consult a physician.

8. How long can I wear the pregnancy support belt?

It is recommended that you wear your pregnancy support band for no more than two to three hours at a time, during waking hours only. It is important to note that support bands are for temporary use only and it is advised you consult a healthcare professional before using any maternity compression bands.

9. Can this belt help with my pelvic girdle pain (PGP), symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) and other pregnancy-related pains?

Yes! A pelvic support belt can alleviate many discomforts and pressure which cause common pregnancy-related pains such as pelvic girdle pain (PGP), symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD), round ligament pain, back pain, and pressure on and around your pelvis. These pains do not harm your baby, but it doesn’t mean you need to soldier on with them. If you experience any of the above, you may have difficulty with simple daily activities such as walking, bending down, climbing stairs, etc. A pregnancy support belt for back pain is hugely beneficial, especially within the later stages of pregnancy as your baby bump grows bigger and drops.
